Vegan Hot Chocolate
Cozy up to a cup of this rich, chocolatey, dairy-free vegan hot chocolate. This super easy recipe has minimal ingredients and is the perfect wintertime treat to warm your mittens on. We’ve included optional ingredients as well to spruce it up if you’re feeling adventurous (peppermint extract and vegan marshmallows!)

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 Tbsp dairy-free semisweet chocolate
- 1 Tbsp sugar (or sweetener of choice)
- 1/8 tsp peppermint extract (optional)
- Vegan marshmallows (optional)
Instructions
- Add almond milk to a large mug and microwave for 1 minute. Alternatively, heat milk in a saucepan over medium heat.
- When milk is warm, add cocoa powder, chocolate and sweetener. Whisk to combine.
- Put back in microwave or continue cooking on stovetop until completely mixed.
- Optional: Stir in peppermint extract and top with vegan marshmallows, cocoa powder, and/or cinnamon!
